Curbside recycling
Recycling materials are picked up every other Wednesday, starting with the first Wednesday in January. Have your materials at the curb by 7:00 a. m. Plowing and sanding
Snow plowing and sanding on city streets is performed by T.A. Schifsky & Sons. We request there be NO PARKING on any city street until it has been plowed curb-to-curb.

Plowing on the county roads is performed by the Ramsey County public works department (651-266-7100).
Police -911
City police protection and traffic control is provided by the Ramsey County Sheriff. Emergency 911, non-emergency 651-484-3366.
Fire -911
Fire and paramedic/ambulance services are provide by White Bear Lake Fire and Paramedic. Emergency 911, non-emergency 651-429-8511.
Bus Service
Lake Area Bus provides mini-bus service to any location in Gem Lake, Birchwood, Mahtomedi, White Bear Lake, White Bear Township, Vadnais Heights, to Maplewood Mall, and to the businesses and medical facilities in the Maplewood Mall, Beam Avenue area. They also offer fixed routes in the early morning and late afternoon.
The fare is $2.00 each way for this curb-to-curb service, between 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. At no extra charge, you may transfer to a mainline Metro Transit bus at Maplewood Mall or to a Northeast Suburban Transit for destinations in Maplewood, North St. Paul, and Oakdale.
To schedule a ride, call at least two hours in advance of your pick-up time. If possible, arrange your ride the day before. Call 651-644-8876 between 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m., weekdays.

Branches and lawn clippings
Ramsey County Brush Collection Sites will accept yard waste and all brush and tree waste from the ground up. Roots and root balls are NOT accepted. The closest site is on County Road J and Ash St. http://www.co.ramsey.mn.us/ph/rt/site_locations.htm
